Modus Operandi

Solutions for functional divisions

Suppression of deposits, Premature Closure, Fraudulent withdrawal in Savings Bank, Savings Certificate, PLI/RPLI, Revival of silent accounts.

1. Seeding of mobile number in all types of accounts. Transactions shall be disabled for accounts which are not seeded by 31.12.2025.

2. Implementation of SMS alerts in the vernacular or customer-preferred language for every transaction.

3. Implement mandatory OTP-based authentication for CIF modifications to enhance security.

4. Physical passbooks to be dispensed with, instead e-passbook to be introduced.

5. However, till such time, Barcodes to be introduced on pass books. Entries in Pass book through Passbook Printer only to be allowed.

6. Stickers in vernacular language can be pasted on the pass book to sensitize account holder that manual entries in passbook will not have any legal liability.

7. Making regular KYC updating mandatory.
