BPS, with a legacy of over 70 years, has consistently upheld the interests of the pensioner community. As a matter of principle, BPS extends moral and strategic support—without financial or physical involvement—to all individuals and organizations genuinely working for the welfare of pensioners.
In alignment with this guiding philosophy, the Managing Committee reached the following conclusions:
Resolutions:
1. No Legal or Street-Level Protest Action for Now:
BPS will refrain from initiating or participating in legal confrontations or public protests at this stage.
2. Emphasis on Digital Mobilization:
Strengthen advocacy efforts through coordinated and impactful campaigns on social media platforms.
3. Support for Ongoing Legal Efforts:
Extend moral and strategic support to the S-30 group's case in the Hon’ble Supreme Court, if such support becomes necessary.
4. Clarification and Public Awareness:
Launch
an awareness drive regarding the implications of the validation clause
in the Finance Act 2025 and its effects on pensioners' rights, using
digital media to reach wider audiences.
5. Strategic Focus on the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC):
Commence active groundwork for meaningful engagement with the 8th CPC to secure just pension reforms.
6. Respect for Affiliate Autonomy:
BPS reaffirms its respect for the autonomy of affiliated organizations. Affiliates are free to act independently based on their local contexts and collective decisions.
