On 20 September 2026, S. Keelapatti village in Madurai Division, Tamil Nadu, was declared a Sampoorna Sukanya Gram after achieving 100% coverage under the Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA) scheme.
Taking the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s #BetiBachaoBetiPadhao to the lastmile, India Post continues to strengthen financial inclusion and help families secure brighter futures for their daughters.
Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, marked the milestone, recognising the grassroots efforts of India Post in ensuring that all 115 eligible girl children under 10 years across 752 households in the village now have their Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts.
With this achievement, 2626 villages across Tamil Nadu’s Southern Region have now attained 100% coverage under the scheme.
