Subject: Timely convening of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) for LSG, HSG-II and HSG-I posts - reg.
Madam/Sir,
I am directed to state that during the meeting held with Staff Unions in March, 2026, it has been brought to the notice of this Directorate that Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) for promotion to various cadres are not being convened in Postal Circles in a timely manner.
2. In this regard, all Circles are hereby requested to comply with the following directions/instructions:
i. DPCs for vacancy year 2026 in respect of LSG, HSG-II and HSG-I posts shall be convened immediately. A compliance report in this regard should invariably be furnished to this Directorate by 15.06.2026.
ii. In cases where DPCs for vacancy year 2025 are still pending, the same shall be convened positively by 15.05.2026, under intimation to this Directorate.
iii. It is reiterated that adherence to the above timelines shall be the responsibility of the DPC convening authority, i.e., the Chairperson of the respective DPC.
3. All Circles are requested to ensure strict compliance of the above instructions and submit a status report to Directorate. In cases where DPCs are not held on time, specific reasons for the delay should be clearly indicated.
4. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
