Amendment in Transfer Rules of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS)

The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has issued a revision in the guidelines related to the administrative/vigilance-based transfers of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS).

*🔹 Key Highlights of the Amendment:*
1. ABPM/Dak Sevak (Level-2) can now be transferred to BPM (Level-1) under TRCA Slab-2.
2. GDS working in RMS Units can be transferred to BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak (Postal Units), provided they belong to the same TRCA slab.
  3. Likewise, GDS from Postal Units (BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak) can also be transferred to RMS Units.

*🔸 Important Note:* Under these revised provisions, transfers from ABPM/Dak Sevak (RMS) to BPM (Level-1) shall only be allowed on administrative grounds, not on vigilance grounds.

🔹 Education and Training Mandatory: For transfer to the post of BPM, the concerned GDS must fulfill the prescribed educational qualifications and departmental criteria, and must undergo mandatory training as specified for BPM.

📌 This order has been issued on 24 June 2025 and is effective with the approval of the competent authority.
