Comparision between NPS & UPS (with expected future figures and assumptions)

 Dear SAPOST Viewers,

        Please find attached an Excel File for calculating the payouts from NPS and UPS. This can be used for comparing the benefits of both NPS/UPS and can be used as a guide before deciding which option is to be given to select either NPS or UPS. The blue colour field can be edited to know your specific results. This excel consists 4 sheets as:

1. Comparison ==> Know and compare NPS/UPS values in brief
2. DataFull    ==> Detailed Calculation sheet
3. Example   ==> show a real time calculation of 2 persons for comparison
4. PayLevel  ==> check BP hike

Some of the assumptions used for calculations are: 

1. Salary hike as per coming 8th CPC assumed to be w.e.f Jan-2026
2. Return rate from NPS annuity is taken as 6% p.a.
3. It doesn't consider the salary hike due to promotion or another pay Commission or for any other reasons.
