I am currently attending IT 2.0 User Champion training at PTC,
Based on my experience so far, I’ve noted some pros and cons of the IT 2.0 application.
These are my personal observations, shared for knowledge-sharing purposes only. I hope the software will improve soon.
Pros of IT 2.0:
1. Quick Updates : It’s fully digital, so updates happen instantly.
2. Single App for Multiple logins : One app supports multiple logins, so no need for separate software.
3. Built by Our Team : Our department created it, so it suits our needs.
4. Instant SMS Alerts : Customers receive booking and delivery notifications via SMS right away.
5. Digital Payments : Accepts online payments, making transactions easier.
6. No Daily Sync Needed : Saves time by not requiring daily data updates.
7. No T-Code Issues : SAP is being phased out, eliminating T-Code problems.
8. Attractive Design : The colorful, card-style interface is appealing and user-friendly.
9. Simple Cash Handling : Cash processes are easy to manage.
10. Stamp Balance Included : Automatically added to daily accounts, reducing manual work.
11. Thermal Printers : Will simplify printing once supplied.
12. Web-Based, No Updates Needed : Runs online, so no need to install patches.
13. Works on Any Browser : Compatible with any Chrome-based browser.
14. Works on Private Networks : Can be used on private networks (except for Finacle and McCamish).
15. Easier Postman Returns : Only undelivered items need confirmation, not full returns.
16. Tracking for All Articles : Even ordinary items can be tracked.
17. Audio Alerts : Helps counter staff with booking notifications.
18. Supports Digital Payments : Accepts online payments (except for Finacle/McCamish).
19. Easy User ID Transfer : Switching user IDs is simpler than in SAP.
Cons of IT 2.0
1. Needs Strong Internet : It’s web-based, so a weak network stops all work, including article booking.
2. High Acknowledgement Fee : The ₹10 fee (as of now) feels too expensive.
3. No Finacle/McCamish Integration : These systems aren’t connected, creating extra work.
4. Manual Entries : Without integration, we must manually enter transactions, which can cause errors.
5. No Supervisor Checks for C-Class Staff : Cash and eMO bookings lack verification, leading to potential mistakes.
6. Old Equipment Struggles : Outdated computers, printers, and weak power backups can’t fully support IT 2.0.
7. Software Bugs : The software is only 80% complete, with bugs that need fixing, so we must work carefully.
Note:
- Correct any cash balance or stamp balance errors in your office immediately.
- Check your leave balance regularly.
- Update your Dak Karmayogi portal, as it’s required for training.
- Report any hardware issues (computers, printers, UPS) and ensure they work properly.
- Share these instructions with your branch offices.
